Reference books are on the first floor in open stacks and must be used in the library. The last one or two years of the most-used reference books are kept at the Reference Desk.
Reserve books are also on the first floor and may be checked out. There are four different types of reserve collections.

Monthly Catalog ?This is a catalog of all U.S. Government Publications from July 1976 to the present. Holdings will be listed for UH and other area libraries. The “SUDOCS” number will generally be the call number used in the library.
Military & Government Collection
Provides full text from over 320 scholarly and peer-reviewed journals, and brings current news to all branches of the military and matters relating to the military and military life. This collection also provides full-text country reports.

The M.D. Anderson Library has been a Federal Depository Library for government publications since 1957, and we receive about 23 percent of government publications. We own some older materials as well. However, not all of our government document holdings are listed in the UH Library Catalog.
